In which, for the first time, I had trouble with Gus...

At least he didn't strand me. After parking from my LI trip, I was away in Cape Breton for 8 days. On my return, it wouldn't start. If I poured gas in the carb, it ran for a few seconds and died. Right at the beginning of Labor Day weekend and 2 weeks before the Plymouth Nationals.

I found a feul pump at NAPA by looking up the Mopar number in my parts book and cross referenceing it on the P15-D24.com web page to a NAPA number. The flexible fuel line is the durnedest thing to get on and off. Still didn't run after replacing the pump, so I cut the fuel line in half to remove it. One half I could not blow through. Instead of waiting for a repro part, I got one of the nicer auto parts stores to find me the two end fittings, and bought the hose and clamps to connect them (which means if I ever need to take it off again, I can just undo the clamps and slip the hose off). And it worked. Runs better, too.
